LESSON'S FROM ALCATRAZ

THE un-Makeing of an Entrepreneur

Erin believes that one of the most empowering things an entrepreneur can experience is a sense of alignment between her spirit, intellect, heart and actions.   It is from here that creativity and abundance flows, allowing us to be fulfilled while giving generously of ourselves. Finding this alignment is a lifelong adventure, and opportunity for great learning!  Erin will share how her experiences of spirituality have led her to pursue a somewhat atypical career, the lessons she is learning on her journey, and how those are impacting how she approaches all aspects of her life, including her work.  An engaging and insightful storyteller, she will entertain and inspire us to consider our own story, our beliefs about our self, and how these relate to the work we pursue as entrepreneurs.

Kelly Hammond, OM Health & Wellness

will share her Nepal adventure, chat about how that changed her path

and where she is heading next.

_____________________________________________

Kelly has spent many years volunteering and fundraising for different organizations and charities both locally and globally. Most notably, her contributions to our local Habitat for Humanity and the national Dreams Take Flight, in the amount of $12,000 each through her fundraising efforts with with Dream Mountains Foundation.

Her successful summit of Kilimanjaro in 2011 and most recently, her redirected 2015 trek to Everest Base Camp have been publicized throughout the area and she continues to volunteer and contribute to her world as a proud member of the Rotary Club of Huntsville.

Her life long dream of trekking to Everest Base Camp was cut short with the catastrophic Nepal earthquake that not only injured Kelly, but claimed the lives of almost 9,000, injured over 20,000 Nepali and left hundreds of thousands homeless. The earthquake redirected her trip and although she didn't make it to Everest, she found love and light among the ruins of Kathmandu, causing a transformation in her life as well.

She now owns and operates a health coaching business in Huntsville, encouraging others to find love and light in every day, to stay positive and move forward regardless of the twists in their paths on this amazing journey though life.

In Conversation with Darla Stipanovich

Getting her business ready for sale and her life ready for new challenges has occupied a great deal of her life this past two years, and she is happy to share her experience with other women entrepreneurs.

Love Your Life to Death

"Empowering women...the caregivers, the entrepreneurs, the everything to everyone...and creating resilience in life and at the end of life"

Based on Yvonne’s book, this will make you laugh, it will make you cry, but most importantly it may give you a new perspective on life and death. Through heartfelt stories of those who have been deeply impacted by loss and found happiness again, and interviews of professionals who deal with grief, death and dying, you will gain from their insightful experiences.

You will be empowered by:

  • Exploring why we have become a death phobic society
  • Better understanding medical futility and quality vs. quantity of life
  • Discovering how living fully can help you die peacefully
  • Looking at grief and creating your self-care tool box
  • Learning how to start “The Talk” about end-of-life wishes and planning
  • … and so much more.

Plan your life, plan your death, then just…

Love Your Life to Death.

My name is Yvonne Heath. I am a wife, mother and a nurse since 1988, in Muskoka since 1997.  I have worked in most departments, from the delivery room to chemotherapy and hospice. I have been disheartened by our society’s death phobia, and how our reluctance to talk about, plan and prepare for grief, death and dying causes excessive suffering in life, and at the end of life.  My goal is to help change that.

I blazed a new path at age 50. My new purpose is to help change our culture, to bring death out of the darkness and into our conversations, so we suffer less when it arrives. We also need to take better care of ourselves and each other—to live well and to die well.  It takes a village to support the ill, the caregiver, the dying and the bereaved. I aspire to empower our community and professionals who work to better the lives of others.

I am sharing my message through social media, speaking, listening/mentoring, creating workshops, a TV Series, radio, and writing my book, Love Your Life to Death. I aspire to help create the change I wish to see in the world. But I can’t do it alone…

The best time to talk about, plan and prepare for grief, death and dying, is when we are young and healthy.

The next best time is…Now!
